How the Intenso Sound Barrier Works
How the system works and why it differs from a standard alarm siren.
-
When activated, the Intenso Sound Barrier emits an intense, highly disruptive sound spectrum at approximately 125 dB.
At the centre of the system is a patented sound generator that produces four tones simultaneously and forces those tones to shift rapidly within a complex frequency range. The result is a dynamic sound profile that is extremely difficult for the brain to process, adapt to or ignore.
Unlike a conventional alarm siren, this is not simply a warning sound. It is designed to create such an intolerable environment that the intruder’s only realistic option is to leave the protected area immediately.
-
A standard alarm siren is primarily a warning device. It alerts the intruder that they have been detected, but it often remains tolerable enough for them to continue searching, stealing or damaging property before anyone arrives.
The Intenso Sound Barrier is different. It does not just alert the intruder. It creates an environment that is extremely difficult to remain in.
That is the key difference:
Traditional alarms warn. The Intenso Sound Barrier forces intruders out.
-
Alarm systems and CCTV are important parts of a modern security setup, but they are still largely passive. They detect, record and summon a response.
The challenge is the delay between activation and attendance.
Intruders often know they have a short window to act before a guard, owner or police arrive. That gap can result in theft, damage and significant loss.
The Intenso Sound Barrier helps close that gap by creating an immediate deterrent within the protected area, reducing the time intruders have to act.
If your current system detects intrusion, the next question is simple:
What does it do to make the intruder leave immediately?
-
The effectiveness of the Sound Barrier is not just about volume. It is the combination of high sound output and a rapidly shifting, highly complex sound spectrum that makes it so difficult to tolerate.
Where conventional sirens rely on simple, repetitive tones, the Intenso Sound Barrier creates a more disruptive acoustic profile that is much harder to ignore or adapt to.
Installation & Compatibility
Practical questions about wiring, retrofitting and integration.
-
Yes. Intenso Sound Barriers are designed to integrate with existing security alarm systems and can either replace or operate alongside an existing siren, depending on the installation.
They require a 12V power source to maintain the internal battery and a trigger signal from the alarm system.
-
Yes. It can be retrofitted to most existing alarm systems or incorporated into the design of a new system.
For many sites, this makes installation straightforward and cost-effective.
-
A qualified security installer should find installation relatively straightforward.
Installation time will vary depending on cable access, site layout and the chosen mounting location, but in most cases it can be integrated without major disruption.
-
In standard applications, the unit requires a 12V source and a trigger signal. In many cases, existing 4-core cable is sufficient.
-
Yes. Multiple units can be installed where broader coverage is needed or where site layout and risk profile call for additional protection.
-
The Sound Barrier uses an internal battery to supply sounding current, while charging is on-demand.
If detailed electrical specifications are important for your application, we recommend discussing your site requirements with us directly so the correct technical information can be provided for your setup.

The Intenso Sound Barrier is suited to a wide range of applications, including:
retail stores
warehouses
factories
banks
server rooms
utility sites
remote critical infrastructure
schools
commercial premises
residential properties
luxury homes and garages
If you are unsure whether your site is suitable, get in touch and we can talk through the environment and likely setup.
-
Yes. The Intenso unit can be suitable for residential installations where a stronger intrusion response is required.
In some configurations, a delayed sounding option can be used so the existing siren activates first, giving occupants time to deactivate the alarm before the Sound Barrier operates.
-
Yes. It is particularly well suited to sites where intruders may target high-value or easily moved stock, including retail, liquor, tobacco, cash-handling environments and similar commercial applications.
-
Yes. Depending on the site and the installation design, the Sound Barrier can be configured for specialised applications.
If you have a particular use case in mind, contact Sonic Force Security and we can discuss the most suitable setup for your environment.
-
The Intenso Sound Barrier is designed as a security deterrent and should always be installed and used appropriately.
If you have specific safety, technical or compliance questions relating to your site, contact us and we can provide the relevant information for your application.
-
Like any high-decibel alarm device, the Sound Barrier should be installed and used correctly.
If you would like more information about hearing exposure considerations, we can provide further technical information and discuss the most suitable setup for your site.
-
If pets may be present within the protected area, this should be considered as part of the site assessment and installation planning.
If this applies to your property, contact us before installation so the application can be assessed appropriately.
-
Sound level, operating conditions and installation requirements can vary depending on the site, environment and local considerations.
If you have compliance or legal questions about your proposed application, contact us and we can discuss the relevant factors for your site.
-
No. The effectiveness of the Intenso Sound Barrier is not simply a matter of volume.
Its impact comes from the combination of strong sound output and a rapidly shifting, highly complex sound spectrum. Conventional internal sounders use static tones and are not designed to create the same disruptive effect.
-
The system operates according to the alarm configuration and can be set up to follow a defined sounding cycle.
Specific operating settings can vary depending on the installation, so if you would like to understand how this would work on your site, we are happy to talk it through.
-
Hearing protection may reduce the intensity of the sound, but that does not necessarily remove the overall operational impact of the system.
If you would like to discuss particular scenarios or higher-risk environments, contact us and we can advise further.
